- Doodle: Answering a poll needs no account. Creating one does: Doodle now requires a free account of the organiser. ↩
- Rallly: Rallly works as a poll where you propose specific times and participants vote on them. It does not offer a freeform grid where everyone paints their full availability. ↩
- Doodle: Doodle sends a calendar invitation once the organiser has connected a calendar, and a confirmation email otherwise. Its pricing page also lists calendar invites among the Pro features, so the free tier may send only the email. ↩
- Rallly: Rallly sends calendar invitations when you finalize a poll, on every plan. The pricing page lists video calls as included on the free plan and on Pro. Google Meet works on every plan. Rallly's blog says Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Webex are part of Pro. ↩
- Doodle: Pro is $15 a month, or $132 a year. Team is $21 per user per month, or $16 billed annually, with a two-seat minimum. Enterprise starts at $15,000 a year. Figures from Doodle’s help centre, which states them in text; the pricing page renders its amounts in the browser. Third-party listicles still quoting $6.95 are years stale. ↩
- Rallly: The free plan allows up to 3 open polls at a time, with no cap on how many people can vote. Free polls are deleted once every date is more than 30 days in the past and there has been no activity for 30 days. Pro removes the three-poll limit and keeps polls indefinitely. ↩
When Doodle is the better choice
You are polling a handful of fixed options rather than open availability, or you want the paid features around branding and reminders that a business account brings.
When Rallly is the better choice
You want to poll a shortlist of specific times rather than collect open availability, or you want self-hosting (Rallly is open-source).
A third option
We make Overlap, so weigh this accordingly. It is a grid like When2meet, with no account for anyone and no advertising. If the organiser connects Google, Overlap emails a calendar invitation with a Meet link to the people who left an email. Anyone can download an .ics file without signing in. People who left no email are not emailed an invitation.
